STAY LONGER

Several people have announced their intention to stay longer than the rest of their team mates.
In order to facilitate a cheaper stay in Aruba Blue Village before or after the events (October 5-9)
we suggest the possibility of sharing junior suites (max. 4 persons) or 1 or 2 bedroom apartments with people from other countries.
Please inform Aruba Blue Village about your wishes, specifically the dates.

PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

ARUBA

October 5-9, 2005

Why a Pan American Championship in Aruba ?

•  Because Aruba is a great place to welcome kenshi from North and South, East and West: nice weather, nice people, multicultural, multilingual, service-oriented

•  Because we feel that an event like this will bring people together in the spirit of Kendo

•  Because Kendo is growing rapidly all over the Americas , with a great need for coordination of efforts in the region

•  Because several federations seeking future IKF affiliation have few other opportunies to participate in large-scale international competitions

•  Because in our region we have to learn to organize events by actually doing it and thus learn from the experience

•  Because Kendo Aruba/Bun Bu Itchi is celebrating its 10 th anniversary in 2005!

What are our aims for a Pan American Championship?

As it says in the above, there is great need to work together internationally on a very intensive basis. By having kenshi and their leaders together for 5 days, our objective is to gain a deeper understanding of the overall situation in the American Kendo World. Also, we think that the event offers possibilities for each and every country, dojo or kendo leader to explain their own situations and difficulties as well as to expose their views on the development of Kendo.

The American kendo federations need a platform for exchange of information and discussion of their shared future. The organizers of the Pan American Championship hope to inspire an American Kendo Movement, whether it be by regularly holding Pan American Championships, by creating one or more regional Confederations or otherwise.

Whatever your feelings about Kendo in the Americas , we welcome you in advance to the Pan American Championships in our Aruban way:

BON BINI !
